Moving Into Higher Consciousness- Part 1

There is no right way, or one way, or structured path to raising one’s vibration and moving into higher consciousness. Raising one’s vibration is not a race. It is a way of being. Higher consciousness is not a goal or a task. It is a lifestyle, determined by how we show up for our life. Higher consciousness is also demarcated by the way we view ourself, and how we view ourselves in relation to others, and the world at large. Higher consciousness is a belief system founded on living in our truth and a deep “sense of knowing”.

Raising one’s vibration is a gradual process that requires consistency. We must learn how to embody a higher vibration, as a lifestyle, and a way of living our life. Doing so requires a sense of curiosity, being open to new ways of thinking, being able to fully surrender to love, and to truth. Making the sacrifice of taking the time for a consistent daily self-care practice is a good way of beginning to raise one’s vibration. Another aspect of higher consciousness is being willing to let go of the old self. All the old stories, limiting belief patterns and ways of being based on dogma.

In a sense we need to experience a death of the old self and birth of the new self. Anytime we speak adversely about ourselves i.e. “You are such an idiot, you did it again”, especially in relation to our way of being in the past, we need to catch ourselves catching ourself, and reframe the statement in a more positive way. For instance we can say things like “I used to think or act this way” or simply “I am a work in progress”. Moving into higher consciousness also begins with our self-talk and our relationship with Self.

We can begin to raise our vibration with a daily, consistent self-care practice that includes some form of meditation. Get connected to your breath, body, heart, intuition and instincts. Learn how to “be”, instead of “do” all the time. Learn how to get grounded and anchored in your body so you can be present every moment of your life.

Learn how to be okay with silence and stillness. Learn how to sit with uncomfortable feelings instead of running away from them so you can learn from your experiences. Cease using repression, compartmentalization, avoidance, or other escape mechanisms such as addictions, pornography, television, or making other people’s business your business.
